The National Professional Practice Examination consists of 110 multiple-choice questions. Out of these, only 100 items are operationally scored, determining pass or fail decisions. The remaining 10 questions are experimental. Most provincial and territorial engineering and geoscience regulators in Canada require the NPPE as part of the professional licensure process. The exam tests a number of areas related to ethics, law, regulation, and professional practice as outlined in the exam blueprint. More information regarding the NPPE can be found on the NPPE website.
For information on suggested reading materials to prepare for the NPPE, please refer to this page.
The practice test site sells an NPPE preparation package, which includes two textbooks and access to a 100-question practice test at a discounted price.

The NPPE practice tests offered through this website help to provide candidates preparing for the NPPE test questions which have appeared on previous examinations. The intent is to help candidates familiarize with the types of questions that will be asked on the actual NPPE.
After taking the practice test, candidates will receive a detailed diagnostic report showing strengths, weaknesses, and explanations for correct answers on all questions. See below sample report.
Practice tests are administered using the same computer-based testing technology as the actual NPPE. This aids candidates in becoming familiar with the NPPE format, thereby reducing test anxiety. To purchase practice test, please visit the Products page on this site.
It is your obligation as a professional or an aspiring professional member to report any test security issues (e.g., answer copying, circulation of any copyright material such as NPPE exam or practice test content, etc.) that you become aware of that occurred before, during, or after the exam administration.
